The Zen Kitten WordPress theme shows off your posts in a refreshing homepage layout that’s fully customisable. Choose which categories are shown and how many posts from each category are listed in the handy Zen Kitten Theme Options in your WordPress admin area:
Finally, you can also choose whether or not to show category titles on the homepage — selecting ‘no’ in the ‘show category titles’ drop down hides them. We recommend this if you’re using the homepage to display your latest posts only, rather than splitting it into category sections.
Using categories for static homepage content
With smart use of categories and the Zen Kitten theme, you can create static areas on your homepage to hold content that doesn’t change when you add new posts. This means you could have a ‘Latest Posts’ block at the top of your homepage, with featured posts from other categories further down.
Using this technique you could list ebooks or other products on your homepage, while still showing your most recent content. We think it’s nifty.
